Association of Personal Injury Lawyers - accredited practice

It is a sad fact that accidents occur and when they do, through no fault of the victim, it seems only right that compensation should be paid. Recent reports state that some people end up paying large fees and receive little or no compensation.

Make sure that does not happen to you by emailing Isabel Elliott or call her on 020 8269 9140

Children's Claims
In a child has had an accident they will need a parent or family member who is over 18 to bring a claim on their behalf (that person is called 'The Litigation Friend'). Even for low value claims the Court will need to approve any settlement agreed between parties. The Litigation Friend will need legal advice in relation to arguing any questions of liability, ensuring the claim is properly valued and finally, where appropriate, to ensure that the Court approves the settlement and invests the money in the Court Funds Office until the insured child reaches 18.

Illness and reactions such as asthma, dermatitis, eczema, leukaemia or other cancers may arise through the negligence of those responsible for the maintenance of a building or environment.

Claims for compensation can be brought against the owner or occupier.
