Building Claims

Defective building work can be a very serious problem. You may have spent a lot of money and find that some, or all, of the work needs to be put right. Indeed, damage may have been done to an existing building or services. Building disputes can be complex but we work closely with other professionals to try to find the most effective solution for you.

Contentious Probate

Sometimes a dispute arises in connection with a Will or in relation to the Estate of a dead person who did not make a Will. We have expertise in disputes of this kind and are able to advise you in this complex and sensitive area.

Insurance Claims

Disputes sometimes arise between an insurance company and the person insured, in relation to whether the benefits should be paid under a policy of insurance. We will advise you on the most appropriate action to take. We can also advise in relation to cases of mis-selling of insurance policies.

Investment Company Claims

Claims against investment companies arise in a variety of circumstances. You may not have been properly advised about the investment when you purchased it. You may have been wrongly advised to sell it or you may even have been defrauded. Perhaps you have a complaint about the way in which your employer’s pension scheme has been run. We can advise in relation to claims to the Financial Ombudsman service and also in relation to taking litigation proceedings, where necessary.

Landlord & Tenant

We can advise you regarding disputes concerning residential leases. These may include dilapidation and disrepair claims or in relation to the terms of your agreement.

Partnership and Shareholder Disputes

The breakdown of a business relationship can be difficult and distressing. Our commercial skills and expertise are available to assist you in resolving the problem. Sometimes litigation is inevitable. Often hard talking is required and a solution may then be found.

Professional Negligence

When professional advice goes wrong, there can be serious consequences for the client. We have experience in bringing claims against a variety of professionals, both through the Courts and by way of complaint to the relevant professional bodies. We undertake negotiations with insurers on behalf of the negligent adviser and represent you in mediation meetings.

Property Disputes

Disputes may arise regarding the ownership of land or rights in relation to land. Disputes involving neighbours can be very upsetting. We can advise you on your legal rights and also in relation to ways in which your dispute may be resolved.
