These days, our life expectancy is greater than ever before and, hopefully, we can look forward to a long and healthy retirement. Peace of mind at that time is at a premium, both in terms of having the financial means to do so and, also, in seeking to maximise the assets we have for future generations.

But, in case your health falters in later years, now is the time to plan ahead and think about your future care, by deciding on who might look after your affairs if you become incapacitated, how you might fund residential care or even by writing a living will.
